"i have given a name to my pain...

...and his name is batman."

okay, so the last time i saw batman was 1990~ish. it came out in '89, my brother, a big superhero fan and my dad, a big batman/michael keaton fan watched it over and over. . .

"and bob, remember.... you are my number one guy!"
-that's for you mike.

and i will admit....i kinda liked it.

it was dark, but entertaining.

i'm sorry. did i say dark?

fast forward 2008 and this guy.

okay, so that picture isn't so dark, but isn't it nicer to look at than this guy?
i even made the picture really small so you wouldn't be scared.

here's my point(s).
a) i loved the michael keaton/jack nicholson duo, even though it was forced upon me to watch over and over and over. and when it wasn't on, he who shall remain nameless acted it out (as he did many a movie back in the day) over and over and over. how can you argue against mr. mom and r.p. mcmurphy (for all you born pre-1980, imdb, imdb)

b) i had read all about the heath ledger death and his amazing performance as the joker, "he's so tortured"....yada, yada, yada no one could have done better, so tragic. . . .

c) i love christian bale newsies, the prestige, american psycho etc. . . .
enough said.

and
d) i do think maggie gyllenhal is cute in a pre-scientoligist katie holmes kind of way.

but sooooo not enough to pay for a batman movie?
i mean what's next?
fantastic four?
ironman?
where will the madness end?

tonight brother! two thumbs up for the dark knight. . . .i mean it was awesome! i freakin' loved it!

mamma mia will have to wait another day.

huh?

clay aiken? a dad? but i thought?
i've been up here in arkansas too long. . . .
someone has messed with the space time continuum

nerdfest

every year i get to enjoy a weekend away with friends from college.
there are no children, no husbands and a lot of doing nothing.
i pretty much live for this time.
dave has dubbed this weekend "nerdfest" because according to him, we sit around and do nothing but talk about our feelings. . . .

and, we'll continue to let him think that.

my trip is not until september this year, but dave was able to enjoy a little nerdfest himself a couple of weeks ago.

while i admit the scenery is beautiful, this trip looks like a lotta work. . . .

the boys

while i enjoy the concept of outdoor living, i prefer my queen size bed, egyptian cotton sheets, a roof, running water

i'm no jessica simpson, but couldn't all this be seen from a balcony suite at the broadmoor? i'm just asking.
